Overview
Murakawa is a Tokyo yakuza who has seen enough. Sent to Okinawa on what his boss frames as a peacekeeping mission between rival clans, he arrives to find the conflict barely worth the trip. Then an ambush scatters his crew and leaves him stranded on a remote beach, waiting for orders that may never come. Kitano directs with unhurried precision, letting violence erupt without warning between long stretches of sun-drenched idleness, where grown men play childish games and quietly contemplate their own mortality.
