Overview
Harvard researcher Eddie Jessup is convinced that consciousness is not fixed, that buried somewhere beneath rational thought lies a truer, more primal self. Armed with isolation tanks and hallucinogenic compounds borrowed from Mesoamerican ritual, he pushes inward, further than science recommends. What begins as academic curiosity curdles into something biological and terrifying. Ken Russell directs with feverish intensity, turning one man's obsession with origins into a visceral nightmare about what we might actually find if we look hard enough.
