Overview
When an Italian military detachment is marooned on an idyllic Greek island during the Second World War, their orders to fortify and defend ring hollow against the serene landscape and absent enemy. As the soldiers shed their wartime anxiety, embracing the island's languor and its people, their abandoned post becomes something closer to paradise. Then their supply ship sinks, and the comfortable fiction collapses, forcing them to confront what loyalty and duty actually mean when survival is no longer guaranteed.
