Overview
Mexico, 1913. A peasant outlaw looking to raid a bank finds himself conscripted into a revolution he never asked for, dragged along by a brooding Irish dynamite man haunted by his own militant past. Sergio Leone stretches the Western into something rawer and more conflicted here, less interested in myth than in the uncomfortable distance between idealism and carnage. The film keeps asking what separates a bandit from a revolutionary, and refuses to give anyone a clean answer.
