Overview
A small beach town depends on summer tourism to survive, so when a great white shark begins killing swimmers off the coast of Amity Island, the pressure to keep the beaches open runs headlong into basic human decency. Police Chief Brody, who fears the water, finds himself allied with a nervy marine biologist and a weathered, half-mad shark hunter. What starts as a municipal crisis becomes something stranger and more primal out on the open ocean.
