Overview
The Rettendon murders of December 1995 left bodies and unanswered questions scattered across Essex. By 1997, one man who knew the victims too well has convinced himself that retreating from the criminal underworld would make him a target. So he goes the other direction, climbing higher into organised crime as a matter of self-preservation. The logic holds, barely, until violence stops being a tool and starts feeling like a calling. His family is still there. He is somewhere else entirely.
