Overview
Curtis LaForche is a devoted family man in rural Ohio whose nights are increasingly consumed by terrifying dreams of an oncoming catastrophe. Are the visions a genuine warning, or early signs of the mental illness that runs in his family? Writer-director Jeff Nichols keeps that question exquisitely unresolved as Curtis quietly, obsessively expands the storm shelter in his backyard, straining his marriage, his friendships, and his own grip on sanity. Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain give performances of extraordinary restraint.
