Overview
Two American women on a European road trip take a wrong turn through rural Germany when their car dies in the woods. Seeking help at a remote villa, they stumble into the orbit of Dr. Heiter, a retired surgeon whose medical expertise has curdled into obsession. What follows is a body-horror premise so singular and so deeply unsettling that simply knowing the concept changes how you watch it. Director Tom Six committed to the idea without flinching.
