Overview
In a perpetually darkened manor on the English coast, a devout mother raises two children whose rare condition makes sunlight deadly. The curtains stay drawn, the doors stay locked, and the rules stay absolute. But when three new servants arrive and unexplained sounds begin echoing through empty rooms, the household's careful order starts to crack. Alejandro Amenábar builds his dread slowly, letting silence do the heavy lifting before delivering one of horror cinema's most genuinely disorienting final acts.
