Overview
November 1965. Lt. Col. Hal Moore leads the first major engagement between U.S. forces and the North Vietnamese Army into the Ia Drang Valley, a remote stretch of highland known for swallowing men whole. Outnumbered and cut off, Moore holds his unit together through sheer will and an unbreakable promise: no soldier gets left behind. The film splits its attention between the battlefield and the wives back home, giving equal weight to both kinds of courage.
