Overview
Auggie Pullman has spent his whole life being stared at. Born with a facial condition that has kept him home-schooled and largely sheltered, he walks into a mainstream elementary school for the first time at age ten, backpack on, astronaut helmet nowhere in sight. What follows is less a story about disability than about the quiet, daily work of belonging: for Auggie, yes, but also for every kid, sibling, and parent orbiting around him.
