Overview
In 1989, five Black and Latino teenagers from Harlem found their lives destroyed by a criminal justice system that had already decided their guilt before any evidence was examined. Ava DuVernay's miniseries reconstructs the wrongful prosecution of the Central Park Five with unflinching detail, following each boy from arrest through conviction and into prison. It is a portrait of how institutions can consume the innocent, and how families hold together when everything else is stripped away.
