Overview
On a sun-warmed Nantucket Island in the summer of 1942, fifteen-year-old Hermie is caught up in the usual adolescent obsessions alongside his two best friends. But a chance encounter with Dorothy, a young woman whose husband has just shipped off to war, redirects everything. What begins as a teenage crush quietly becomes something more complicated and more tender, a fleeting connection shaped by longing, loss, and the particular ache of growing up too fast.
