Overview
Bella Baxter should not exist. Resurrected by an eccentric surgeon who replaced her brain with that of her unborn child, she enters the world as a woman in body but an infant in experience, devouring life with complete, unfiltered hunger. A roguish lawyer whisks her across Europe and beyond, expecting to control her. He cannot. What begins as a picaresque romp becomes something stranger and more radical: a portrait of a consciousness building itself from scratch, on its own terms.
