Overview
When a catastrophic experiment kills their funding and their reputations, a group of disgraced physicists makes a desperate bet: rebuild their outlawed space-compression technology through the only people willing to finance it, criminals with no interest in ethical oversight. What begins as a back-channel deal spirals into something far harder to control. The engine they are racing to complete could fold distance itself, offering salvation to a struggling civilization or handing destruction to whoever gets there first.
