Overview
Four women who have called themselves the Ya-Ya Sisterhood since childhood will do just about anything to protect one of their own. When a New York playwright gives a magazine interview that paints her Louisiana mother in an ugly light, the Sisterhood swoops in, kidnaps the daughter, and launches a deeply personal campaign to make her understand the woman she thinks she knows. What follows is a story about secrets, forgiveness, and the damage mothers and daughters quietly do to each other.
