Overview
Far in the future, one desert planet holds the entire universe hostage. Arrakis, a vast wasteland of shifting sands and giant sandworms, is the sole source of Melange, a spice that enables faster-than-light travel and prolongs human life. Into this brutal, politically charged world arrives Paul Atreides, a young nobleman whose arrival stirs ancient prophecy among the native Fremen. David Lynch's sprawling adaptation trades clean plotting for atmosphere, mythology, and sheer strange ambition.
