Overview
When a spiteful witch curses a young hat-maker named Sophie, she wakes up trapped inside the body of an old woman. Fleeing her ordinary life, she stumbles into the lurching, smoke-belching castle of Howl, a vain but complicated wizard caught between royal demands and his own reluctance to wage war. Miyazaki's film wraps a quiet anti-war argument inside a love story, piling on invention and warmth until the whole magnificent contraption somehow holds together.
