Overview
Los Angeles, somewhere in the middle of the decade. Stevie is thirteen, bruised by a household that offers little warmth, and desperate for somewhere to belong. He finds it among a loose, loud group of skaters who hang around a local shop, kids who curse freely, fall hard on concrete, and somehow make even recklessness feel like freedom. Jonah Hill's debut as director is quiet and sun-bleached, more interested in the texture of adolescence than its lessons.
