Overview
Max Fischer is fifteen, perpetually over-committed, and convinced that Rushmore Academy exists primarily as a stage for his ambitions. When a first-grade teacher named Miss Cross walks onto that stage, Max falls hard and fast, then makes the baffling decision to recruit a melancholy steel tycoon as his romantic wingman. Wes Anderson's second feature is a deadpan study of obsession, friendship, and the particular delusion of boys who mistake intensity for wisdom.
