Overview
New England, 1630. A Puritan family, banished from their plantation community, builds a life on the outskirts of a dark and ancient wood. Then the infant goes missing. Then the crops fail. Then the twins start talking to the goat. Robert Eggers's debut feature moves slowly and deliberately, letting dread accumulate like frost, until the family's rigid faith becomes indistinguishable from its unraveling.
