Overview
When Bumpy Johnson walks out of prison after a decade behind bars, the Harlem he remembers is gone. The Italian mob has carved up his neighborhood, and the community he once protected barely recognizes him. Loosely drawn from the real criminal legend, the series tracks Bumpy's slow, ruthless climb back to power while navigating the civil rights movement crackling around him. It is a portrait of a man reclaiming territory, and identity, one bloody block at a time.
