Overview
Al Pacino plays a veteran LAPD detective sent to a remote Alaskan town to crack the murder of a teenage girl, only to find the perpetual daylight slowly dismantling his grip on reality. Sleep deprivation and a creeping moral compromise make him a surprisingly unreliable investigator, while Robin Williams, cast brilliantly against type, plays the suspect who seems to understand him better than his own partner does. Christopher Nolan shoots the midnight sun like a slow punishment.
