Overview
Chicago, 1936. When a small-time grifter watches a friend get killed on orders from a powerful crime boss, revenge seems impossible against a man that well-protected. The answer, it turns out, is a con so elaborate it requires a fake betting parlor, a cast of accomplices, and one very seasoned operator who has pulled off bigger jobs than anyone alive. George Roy Hill's Oscar-winning classic is a masterclass in misdirection, where the audience is always the last to know.
