Jim Hawkins is a restless teenager with a reputation for trouble and no clear future, until a dying spacefarer hands him a holographic map pointing to the greatest fortune ever accumulated. What follows is a voyage across the cosmos aboard a solar-powered galleon, where Jim falls under the mentorship of John Silver, a charming, mechanically augmented ship's cook whose loyalty is far more complicated than it first appears.
