Overview
On a Mi'gmaq reserve in 1976, fourteen-year-old Aila has built a quiet economy selling weed to survive after her family fell apart. When the local Indian agent forces her into the residential school system she has long evaded, she comes face to face with the full machinery of colonial violence. What follows is a story about a young woman refusing to be consumed by a system designed to erase her, and choosing to fight back on her own terms.
