Overview
Richard Boyle is the kind of journalist who shows up where decent people leave. In 1980, he arrives in El Salvador as a civil war tears the country open, and finds himself caught between death-squad militias and leftist guerrillas with no safe ground anywhere. Oliver Stone's film follows Boyle not as a hero but as a compromised man trying to do one right thing: get the woman he loves and her children out alive before the violence swallows them.
