Overview
A Romanian priest sits in a prison cell, convicted of killing a nun during an exorcism ritual. For an American investigative journalist sent to cover the story, the question seems straightforward: was this a man of faith murdering a vulnerable, mentally ill woman? But the deeper she digs into what happened inside that convent, the less certain she becomes. Something about the case refuses to resolve into anything rational, and the evidence keeps pointing somewhere she does not want to go.
