Overview
In 1976, Maurice Flitcroft, a shipyard worker with no formal training and boundless self-belief, somehow talked his way into the qualifying rounds of the British Open Golf Championship. What followed was the most spectacularly bad round in the tournament's long history, and yet the crowd loved him for it. Based on a true story, the film is a warm, quietly radical portrait of a man who refused to let ability get in the way of ambition.
