Overview
Liz Bartlett, a sharp-edged reporter, had quietly wished her insufferable colleague Jerry Caper out of her life. When he turns up dead, that private wish starts to look like motive. The investigator assigned to the case, Dan Walker, finds himself drawn to Liz even as his instincts keep pointing back at her. A second body deepens the mystery, and the further Dan digs into her past, the more dangerous the truth becomes.
