Overview
Paul Baumer is seventeen, full of belief, and convinced that glory waits for him in the trenches. He enlists alongside his schoolmates, their heads full of speeches about honor and sacrifice. What they find on the Western Front is something no classroom ever prepared them for. Edward Berger's adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque's novel strips war down to its brutal, grinding reality, following young men as patriotism quietly dissolves into mud, fear, and grief.
