Overview
Inside a cramped World War II U-boat, a crew of young Germans discovers that glory and death share the same narrow corridor. Director Wolfgang Petersen strips away any romantic notion of naval warfare, replacing it with rust, sweat, and the unbearable pressure of the deep Atlantic. The hunters quickly find themselves hunted, and what began as a mission becomes a test of how long men can hold together when the ocean itself seems determined to crush them.
