Overview
In the summer of 1955, Mamie Till Mobley sent her fourteen-year-old son Emmett south to visit family in Mississippi. He never came home. Rather than grieve quietly, Mamie made a choice that would shake the conscience of a nation: she demanded the world see exactly what had been done to her child. Her fight for accountability became a flashpoint for the civil rights movement, and a portrait of a mother who refused to let grief be silenced.
