Overview
Scientist Seth Brundle has cracked teleportation, a feat that should make him famous. Instead, it destroys him. When a housefly slips unnoticed into his prototype pod during a solo test run, the machine fuses their DNA at a molecular level. What follows is one of cinema's most visceral body-horror slow burns, as Brundle watches himself transform into something no longer quite human. David Cronenberg turns a pulpy 1950s premise into a meditation on disease, decay, and the terror of losing your own body.
