Overview
The Bronx of the 1960s is a neighborhood where loyalty is currency and the wrong friendship can cost everything. Young Calogero grows up caught between two powerful figures: his bus-driver father, who preaches honest living, and Sonny, the magnetic local mob figure who offers a far more seductive version of manhood. When Calogero falls for a Black girl from across the color line, he faces pressures that will force him to decide what kind of man he actually wants to become.
