Overview
Maren has spent her whole life learning to hide what she is. Left behind by the one parent who knew her secret, she drifts through Reagan-era America searching for answers and some semblance of belonging. When she falls in with Lee, a scarred and restless young man who understands her hunger in ways no one else could, the two chart a desperate cross-country path together, haunted by their natures and the people who share them.
