Overview
Robert Clayton Dean is a Washington labor lawyer with a good job, a loving family, and absolutely no reason to be afraid of the federal government. That changes the moment a piece of surveillance footage lands in his possession without his knowledge. Suddenly the NSA is dismantling his life, his reputation, and his finances in real time. His only lifeline is a paranoid ex-intelligence operative named Brill, who knows exactly how the machinery of state surveillance works because he helped build it.
