Overview
Saul Indian Horse carries the weight of a childhood stolen by Canada's residential school system, and the scars run deep into adulthood. Hockey offers him something rare: a language that transcends the prejudice he meets at every turn in 1970s Canada. But talent alone cannot outrun trauma, and Saul's battle with alcoholism forces a reckoning with everything he buried. Based on Richard Wagamese's celebrated novel, the film is a quiet, devastating portrait of survival, identity, and the cost of assimilation.
