Overview
At 60, most elite athletes have long since traded competition for commentary. Diana Nyad had other plans. Driven by decades of unfinished business, she attempts the grueling 110-mile open-water crossing from Cuba to Florida, a stretch of shark-patrolled, jellyfish-filled ocean that has defeated her before. What unfolds is less a sports story than a portrait of stubbornness, friendship, and the strange compulsion to prove something to yourself long after the world has stopped watching.
