Overview
Joel Goodson has spent seventeen years doing everything right: good grades, good manners, and a spotless record his college-application-obsessed parents can be proud of. Then they leave for vacation, hand him the keys to the Porsche, and something snaps. One bad decision leads to another, and before long a suburban Chicago kid with Princeton dreams finds himself running an improvised enterprise that is equal parts entrepreneurial and catastrophic. Paul Brickman's sharp debut balances teenage wish-fulfillment against genuine consequence.
