Overview
Nazi Germany demands conformity, but Liesel discovers power in forbidden pages. This girl with sticky fingers collects discarded books, reading them aloud to neighbors and to a Jewish boy hidden beneath the floorboards of her foster home. As the war tightens its grip, her small acts of literary rebellion become dangerous. Director Brian Percival frames this story through Death's narrator voice, finding humanity and resilience in the margins of history's darkest chapter.
