Overview
In 1913, a twenty-year-old former caddie from a working-class Massachusetts family walked onto the golf course at Brookline and shocked the sporting world. Francis Ouimet had no business competing against Harry Vardon, the celebrated British champion who had practically invented modern golf. But sport has a funny way of ignoring what is supposed to happen. Bill Paxton directs this warm, handsome film about class, ambition, and the afternoon one young man refused to know his place.
