Overview
Mark Whitacre, an ambitious ADM executive, strikes a Faustian bargain with the FBI to expose his employer's price-fixing scheme. Yet his motivations prove far murkier than righteous indignation. Steven Soderbergh's dark comedy explores how self-deception and ambition can cloud even the most ostensibly noble act, as Whitacre pursues vindication while simultaneously hoping for corporate rewards. Matt Damon's performance captures the tragicomic disconnect between whistleblower narrative and messy human reality.
