Overview
Roy McAvoy had all the talent in Texas and burned through every bit of it. Now he runs a dying driving range in the West Texas scrub, more legend than golfer. When a smart, clear-eyed psychologist shows up for lessons, Roy falls hard, despite the small problem of her being with his old rival. His solution, predictably, is to qualify for the US Open and swing for everything. Ambition, ego, and genuine feeling make a complicated hand.
