Overview
When a hired hand guns down her father, fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross does not wait for justice to find her. She goes looking for it herself, negotiating hard with a disreputable, one-eyed marshal named Rooster Cogburn to track the killer into dangerous Oklahoma Territory. The Coen Brothers adapt Charles Portis's beloved novel with bracing wit and moral clarity, centering everything on Mattie's iron-willed determination in a landscape that has very little patience for principle.
