Overview
In the dust and corruption of 1980s Mexico, a loose network of marijuana growers slowly consolidates into something far more organized and far more dangerous. At the center of it all is Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo, a man with the patience and ambition to build an empire. On the other side, an American DEA agent arrives convinced he can dismantle it. What follows is a portrait of institutional failure, brutal power, and the birth of modern drug trafficking.
