Overview
Johnny, a taciturn Yorkshire farmer, drowns his aimless existence in alcohol and fleeting encounters with indifferent strangers. When Gheorghe arrives as seasonal labor, the connection is immediate and unsettling. Their affair blooms amid the moorland and livestock, forcing Johnny to confront the emotional paralysis he's maintained since his mother's death. Francis Lee's debut captures how proximity and desire can crack open a life that seemed permanently sealed shut.
