Overview
Jack Carter has spent years doing dirty work for Las Vegas crime bosses, keeping his past in Seattle at arm's length. Then his brother dies in what looks like an accident, and Carter flies home for the funeral. What he finds there is something uglier than grief: a cover-up, a conspiracy, and people who should have known better. What follows is less a police investigation and more a one-man reckoning, methodical and cold.
