Overview
In the deserts of Libya, a schoolteacher named Omar Mukhtar spent two decades leading barefoot tribesmen against one of the most mechanized armies in the world. Anthony Quinn plays Mukhtar with quiet ferocity, opposing Italian Fascist forces under General Graziani as Mussolini's colonial ambitions grind against a people who refuse to surrender. Moustapha Akkad's epic is built on scale and moral clarity, a film about dignity holding firm when empire brings all its machinery to bear.
