Overview
Jo March wants to write. Amy wants Paris and fine art. Meg wants love, and Beth wants very little beyond the warmth of home. Greta Gerwig's adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's beloved novel follows four sisters navigating ambition, heartbreak, and the particular constraints placed on women in post-Civil War New England. Told across two timelines, the film finds something genuinely urgent in a story over 150 years old, asking hard questions about art, marriage, and who gets to choose.
